During a recent event, Kipchumba highlighted the stalled progress of Chebara Institution despite the president’s assurances.

The lawmaker recounted a previous conversation with the head of state in which Ruto assured him that National Youth Service (NYS) personnel would be deployed to Chebara Institution to initiate its development.

“Here at Chebara Institution, I once requested the president, and he said, ‘Toroitich, go in the morning and check if the NYS personnel have arrived there.’ Did they arrive or not? They did arrive, but to this day, the Chebara Institution has not progressed,” the MP lamented.

Kipchumba expressed his concern over the lack of funding to complete the promised projects, urging Ruto to ensure that financial resources are allocated to fulfil pledges made at rallies.

“I want to humbly request the president. Please, when we make promises in the field, let us ensure there is money to complete the project. Every time I meet the president, I tell him, ‘Please, the schools have not been completed. So we humbly request the president to fulfil the promise of three months,” he said.

Kipchumba also referenced the growing discontent among the youth, warning that unfulfilled promises could lead to unrest.

The lawmaker observed that the youth-led protests that led to the storming of the National Assembly were fuelled by numerous unfulfilled promises.

He explained that he fears being attacked by his constituents, adding that he is committed to executing his mandate.

“Recently, these Gen Zs came and invaded parliament due to false promises given to the public. So, Your Excellency, even I, in Marakwet West, don’t want to be invaded. I want to work according to the agenda I was given,” he explained.

In a related report, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed defended Ruto, stating that completing stalled projects is part of his 2022 election manifesto.

Mohamed emphasised that Ruto’s commitment to reviving unfinished projects demonstrates responsibility and aligns with the Kenya Kwanza agenda.

He said Ruto would continue his development tours, focusing on launching new projects, inspecting ongoing ones, and completing stalled initiatives…CONTINUE READING>>
