Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City has already signed Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez and has already reached an agreement to sign Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United as reported by too football journalist Fabrizio Romano. Manchester City also wants to make Brighton left back their next signing after Phillips.
Pep Guardiola has dominated the premier league since he joined Manchester City in the 2016/2017 campaign, since then he has won four premier league titles, but one trophy he hasn’t won is the Champions league.
Pep has reached the semi-finals on two occasions and also reached the finals last year where they lost to Chelsea. Things won’t come easy but with his new signings, he can win the Champions League in the 2022/2023 season.
Fans have criticized Guardiola for most of City’s elimination in the Champions league and they always say that he runs out of ideas during the most important games. Pep Guardiola can convince Man City fans by lining up with these two formations;
OPTION 1.
With Phillips and Rodri as midfield pivots, the formation is more balanced, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden will be supporting Erling Haaland who leads the attack.
OPTION 2.
This is Guardiola’s most used formation, not of bad formation, good attack, and good balance in midfield too.
Julian Alvarez and Kyle Walker are the players that will be coming often from the bench.
