P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened beside Ilogbo/Ishashi Bridge area of Ajangbadi, Lagos, where they accosted her at about 10pm on the fateful day.

According to the Police,  the victim was going to the Mosque when the suspects accosted her and forcefully engaged her into the act with a threat to harm her if she resisted their wish and the victim was intimidated as she was helpless.

Having satisfied themselves, they allowed her to go. When the victim got home, she told her parents about what happened to her and the matter was reported to the Police at Ilembe Hausa Division.

The Police moved into action, arrested the two suspects and detained them at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct. And while there, the victim identified them before the matter was transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for further investigation.

After investigation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.

However, the Court did not take their plea when they were arraigned after the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction…CONTINUE READING>>
