As the alleged leader of hundreds of other bandits like himself, Turji Kachalla is said to be responsible for many of the cases of Kidnappings in Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna States.
And since the continuous Military onslaughts against him and his men in Zamfara State where their activities were mostly concentrated have forced them to flee to Sokoto State, they have continued their heinous acts over there as well. However, his evildeeds continues chasing after him as he now runs from pillar to post.
Being immersed in the foolishness of his seemingly blossoming criminal activities about a year ago, Turji Kachalla once had the effrontery to cast aspersions at the federal government (FG) while at the same time threatening the Nigerian Military that he had enough arms and ammunition and fighters to stand it in a face off.
In addition, he went on to cap it up by saying that he and his so-called foot soldiers were not afraid of death. Well, that was when he thought that they were actually having an upper hand over the Nigerian Army, like some pundits had wrongly supposed. Then, they were taking undue advantage of the amnesty offer that the government had taken to them through their sympathizer, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.
However, some months later, when the burning of over forty innocent travellers to death in Isa local government area (LGA) of Sokoto which was blamed on him and his men took place, he was declared wanted either dead or alive by the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC).
And few days later, his hand his legion of fighters were reportedly bombarded in their hideout by the Military airstrikes. As a result of that, while many of them were obliterated, he was said to have escaped with serious injuries capable of incapacitating him.
Shortly after the bombing of his team, it perhaps, became dawn on him that he had challenged the wrong opponent (Nigerian Military) to a battle. And the same “basket mouth” of a bandit kingpin saw the need to write a letter in which he sought to have a peace meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State and the Emir of Shinkarfi Emirate also in the state.
And aside from these three eminent Nigerians, he specifically mentioned that he wanted their (bandits) spokesman, Sheikh Gumi, to be a part of the proposed infamous peace meeting. But for him to be dictating what he wanted in the meeting he begged for is simply laughable. This is because it simply paints the picture of a loser whose arrogance is leading to no where else, but his inherent destruction.
The latest that has been heard about the letter-writing bandit kingpin known as Turji Kachalla is that further air incursions against him and his men have pursued them away from Fakai forest in Shinkarfi LGA to Gando forest in Bukuyumm LGA of Zamfara State.
According to an unarmed source, Turji Kachalla and his cohorts were sighted fleeing to the forest mentioned above. Furthermore, the source said that another deadly bandit known as Shehu Bayade who has been tormenting the people of Anka, Gumi and Bukuyumm LGAs must have invited them to the vast forest.
And the reason might be because they feel that they can have enough hideouts to shield them from being detected by the Military Fighter Jets.
Well, Turji Kachalla might be trying to hide just yet, but the plain truth is that he too knows that his days are numbered. And that was definitely why he had tried to buy himself more lifetime with his ridiculous peace-seeking letter.
