Done deal: Chelsea extend Kirby contract...CONTINUE READING

Chelsea have triggered their one-year contract extension option on Fran Kirby, despite her season-ending knee injury. The England international has been sidelined since February with a knee injury sustained against West Ham, ruling her out for the remainder of the WSL season and the upcoming Women’s World Cup.

While Kirby has made just 13 appearances across all competitions this campaign, Chelsea have recognised the importance of the 29-year-old, and have triggered a one-year extension on her current deal.

Mbappe won’t sign new PSG contract

Kylian Mbappe will not sign the one-year contract extension in his Paris Saint-Germain contract as Real Madrid reignites their plan of signing the superstar striker.

Mbappe was said to have had a verbal agreement in place to join Madrid last season and the striker had previously hinted at a move to the Spanish capital after a eye-opening interview suggested that he had been open to leaving France.

However, that move did not materialise as he committed his future to the French capital. The striker penned a new three-year contract in Paris last May – although the final year of that deal is an optional renewal on the player’s behalf. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Man Utd push for Kane and Mount transfers

Manchester United are set for a busy summer transfer window and are pushing for deals to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Kane, 29, is on United boss Erik ten Hag’s target list this summer as he is on red alert to sign a central striker at Old Trafford. United are desperate to sign an elite central striker and believe Kane’s contractual situation will mean that a deal is possible.

Mount is aware that Chelsea want to sell him this summer and he has expressed a preference for joining United in that instance. Like Kane, he is also out of contract in the summer of 2024 and as such is likely to be available at a reduced price this summer.
