Eintracht Frankfurt have activated the purchase option for the left-back, who has signed a permanent contract with the Eagles until 30 June 2026. After two and a half years at PSV Eindhoven, the 29-year-old returned to the Bundesliga on the final day of the January transfer window.
Max has made 13 appearances for Eintracht so far, playing the full duration in more than half of them. The activation of the purchase option sees his contract extended until the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Gundogan urged to snub Arsenal
Former Liverpool ace Stevie Nicol has urged reported Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan to join Barcelona instead of the Gunners if he leaves Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of the season. Nicol told ESPN: “If you are going to cut your ties, then I would go somewhere else.
I would either go back to Germany, to Barcelona or to a club of that ilk. “The only thing I am good with is that he’s a better player than [Granit] Xhaka.
If you can replace what you have got, with better, then that’s the way forward. “That’s the reason why I think it’s a good move for Arsenal. It’s just from a Gundogan point of view, I don’t understand it.”
Man Utd ‘ask for’ Kounde
Manchester United reportedly want to sign a new centre-back this summer. And AS claim that the Red Devils have approached Barcelona about Jules Kounde.
The report states that Xavi can’t give Kounde assurances about game time next season. And United are among Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.
