League Two AFC Wimbledon have signed Cambridge United forward Saikou Janneh on loan until the end of the season. The 23-year-old has scored one goal in 17 appearances for the U’s in all competitions after joining the League One club from Bristol City last summer.

The Gambian has previously had loan spells at Torquay United, Newport County and Shrewsbury Town. Janneh becomes Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson’s fourth signing of the January transfer window.

Arteta wants more signings

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has insisted that he wants to add another midfielder to his squad before the January transfer window draws to a close. “We need some more cover in midfield, ideally if we can, but obviously in this market it’s pretty complicated to do that,” said the Spaniard at this afternoon’s press conference.

“But as I always say, the most important thing is that we get the performances and the time on the pitch that we need with the players that we have available today, that are already really good.”

Manchester United considering summer move for Federico Chiesa

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. The Italy international spent two years on loan at Juventus from Fiorentina, before his move was made permanent last summer.

Although Chiesa is under contract until June 2025, his future at Juventus appears to be uncertain due to the club’s off-field issues. The Italian giants have recently been deducted 15 points in Serie A due to alleged false accounting and financial irregularities.

Several clubs are believed to be monitoring the situation, with a number of Juventus’ star players linked with a move away, including Chiesa. According to Calciomercatoweb, Manchester United have identified the 25-year-old as a potential transfer target.
