Taking to his verified X account on Saturday morning, Raila Junior said that incidents such as the arrest of Aoko should not be occurring under the watch of the newly appointed Cabinet Secretaries.
“These things shouldn’t be happening under your watch Opiyo Wandayi and Hon John Mbadi,” Raila Junior wrote.
The arrest of Aoko, a vocal and controversial figure on social media, caused an uproar among Kenyans with the many netizens calling for her release.
Many netizens voiced concerns over what they perceived as suppression of freedom of speech, particularly on online platforms. Aoko, known for her often controversial posts on social media platform X, has frequently criticized various high ranking political leaders.
On Friday, August 16, she was apprehended by the DCI over several posts she made on her X account.
