Today in the afternoon, reports have emerged that the inspector general of police has been notified on a planned peaceful protests to State House tomorrow.

President Ruto eventually succumbed to pressure and returned the bill to Parliament for further amendments. He has yielded to some demands made by Kenyans.

As reported by Citizen TV, Linda Jamii on their petition to court today in the afternoon has notified the police boss that there would be a peaceful march to State House tomorrow.

He fired cabinet secretaries but then reappointed half the cabinet – individuals some Kenyans rejected because they want the president to select technocrats with integrity, not political cronies. Ruto’s reappointments triggered more anger.

According to this lobby group, the procession will be made of Kenyans of good-will as they head to deliver the petitions to the house on the hill in Nairobi, and state lodges in Mombasa, Kisumu, Sagana, Nyeri, Eldoret, Nakuru, Kakamega and Kitale.

He promised several austerity measures to manage government expenditure and signed into law the process of reconstituting the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. This would allow Kenyans to recall legislators they are unhappy with.

At the same time, Linda Jamii wants the court to declare State House as a free area that can be accessed during protests.

This petition by Linda Jamii is coming in at a time when Gen Z seems to have taken a break ahead of a mega protest next month dubed ‘NaneNane’. The Gen Z have not revealed whether they will be having protests tomorrow
