In an interview on Citizen TV, Wanjigi stated that the raid was linked to allegations of possessing assault weapons, such as hand grenades and teargas canisters. He believes this accusation is a tactic to portray him as a threat waging war.

Wanjigi referred to a previous raid during former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, suggesting that Kenyatta and Ruto hold a hidden hatred towards him. He accused the two presidents of using the police for what he termed as “criminal activities” in his home.

Wanjigi shared that his family believed the police intended to kill him, while they would only face threats or detainment.

Wanjigi argued that the recent raid was not genuinely about finding alleged weapons but was solely focused on arresting him. He criticized the approach, stating that if the government wanted to arrest him, they could have issued an arrest warrant or followed legal procedures instead of subjecting his family to terror.

He maintained that the government’s actions were personal, emphasizing that the focus was on him on both occasions. He pointed out that if it were a matter of law, there would be multiple legal avenues to bring him to court without resorting to such aggressive tactics.

Wanjigi also reiterated past accusations that police planted explosives and guns in his motorcade, suggesting that both Uhuru and Ruto might fear him and should address these allegations.

He highlighted that such incidents had not occurred even under the repressive regime of former President Moi, implying that the actions against him were unprecedented.
