The family of Wilkister Blessing told the press that she left the house and went to meet a friend in Thika on June 19 but was never seen again.

A friend who also lived in the informal settlement revealed that she noticed that Blessing had not arrived home after her visit and she began looking for her. She disclosed that after calling her phone, a man answered and posed as a police officer telling her that Blessing had been arrested and was being detained at a police station in Thika, Kiambu County.

“Hallo… Blessing ako uku ndani. I think aliwekwa uku juzi ama jana, ameshikwa.. ako apa Thika police(Hello, Blessing is in the cell and I think she was arrested either yesterday or the day before. She is here at Thika Police station),” the man was heard on the call.

When she arrived at the station, she was informed that the victim was not there and that the man who answered the phone was not one of them. This raised more concerns forcing her to call Blessing’s parents.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) informed Blessing’s family and friends that her phone had been traced to Mukuru Kwa Njenga and neighbouring areas such as Tasia, Pipeline, Fedha and Mukuru Kwa Reuben.

After the bodies were discovered in the Kware dumpsite, the family was gripped with fear.

The family is hopeful that Blessing is not among the women whose bodies were discovered at the dump site. However, they are awaiting the findings from the detectives and medical team to be sure.

As Blessing’s relatives continue to search for their kin, they called upon the police to expedite the investigations and help them trace her.

Notably, other families with missing relatives have been camping outside the City Mortuary hoping to identify their kin among the bodies being retrieved from the dumpsite.

These families condemned the gruesome murders and called for the arrest of anyone involved to ensure they are brought to book. Collins Jomaisi was arrested as the main suspect.

Meanwhile, retrieval of the bodies is ongoing as the DCI continues with the investigations. The autopsy results are yet to be released…CONTINUE READING>>
