Peter Munya, a former Cabinet Secretary, spoke about this issue while attending a funeral service. He expressed his concerns about the debate over regional leadership. Munya reminded Kenyans that the Kenyan Constitution does not recognize the concept of a “kingpin” for any region. He emphasized that no one can claim leadership in Mount Kenya just by calling themselves a kingpin, and that this title does not have any legal or official meaning.

Munya also revealed that Mount Kenya leaders have been holding several meetings to discuss such matters, which he believes is a waste of time. According to him, instead of focusing on who is the kingpin, leaders should prioritize serving the people and working to improve the lives of Kenyans.
