Her Manager Teana Msolomba confirmed the development, saying, apart from other multi-million Kwacha asset investments, the Olympique Lyonnais Féminin attacker has ventured into the oil refining business.
“We noted that there was a huge challenge faced by most Malawians when it comes to accessing affordable cooking oil in the country and we decided to take the plant to a place where it would be within their reach, thus a rural area like Dowa, where we will operate from.
“The machinery is already in the country and we are now finalising operational costs,” Msolomba said.
Tabitha, who has played for Wuhan Jiangsu, Inter Milan Women and PSG Women, could not be drawn to comment about the venture.
Meanwhile, Msolomba has disclosed plans to engage more women footballers who plying their trade locally and abroad by providing them with financial advice.
“It is a pity that most of our players just go and sign for teams without seeking financial advice from people like us. If you ask Tabitha, she will tell you about how much she has benefitted from my advice. This is the reason I want to help more female footballers,” Msolomba, who also manages Tabitha’s younger sister Temwa, said.
Meanwhile, football analyst Roy Abramo M’dechi has hailed Msolomba for the role she is playing in helping Tabitha prepare for life after football.
“This is what most athletes should be doing. Super League players can take this route, too.
“It is unfortunate that most of them end up being beggars. They live a starved life after their career because they simply did not seek financial advice during their heydays,” M’dechi said...CONTINUE READING>>
