Speaking to a section of journalists outside the DCI headquarters along the Kiambu road, Mr Mejjadonk said that the DCI officers questioned whether they bought T-shirts and water for the Gen Z protesters.

“They have also asked whether we were buying T-shirts and water for the protesters. I believe this is just political and they are just politicking.” The member of parliament said

Mr Gakuya and Mejjadonk who are seen as close allies of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua termed the move as a political witch hunt pushed by leaders who are interested in gaining political scores.

The grilling of the two lawmakers over their alleged involvement in the previous protests comes barely days after three people working in the office of the Deputy President were questioned over their involvement in the protests.
