This comes amidst growing criticism from various quarters, particularly from Kenyans who claim that many projects being inaugurated by Ruto had already been initiated by his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mohamed responded to these claims by underscoring the president’s dedication to reviving stalled projects from the previous administration.

“It’s essential for a president to ensure that all feasible projects, including those that stalled before his election, are completed,” he stated. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the commitments outlined in Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza manifesto, which played a pivotal role in securing his election.

The spokesperson added that Ruto’s ongoing development tours across the country are not just about revamping old projects, but also about advancing the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

“The president’s approach includes launching new projects, inspecting ongoing ones, and, where necessary, reviving and completing projects that stalled prior to his election,” Mohamed explained.

Ruto has indeed been active in various regions, including Coast, Mt. Kenya, and Western Kenya, where he has launched several initiatives. However, this is where the sentiment among the public takes a critical turn.

Many have noted that projects like the Kanyuambora Irrigation Project in Embu, which Ruto launched on August 7, have previous ties to the Jubilee administration, stoking debates on the actual innovation versus continuity of previous efforts.
