Treating a vaginal yeast infection can prevent symptoms within a few days. In more serious cases, it may take a longer time.

Vaginal yeast infections aren’t seen as sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Sexual contact can make it spread, but women who aren’t sexually active can also be infected with it.

Some of the symptoms of vaginal yeast infection are as follows:

1. A thick, white, odorless discharge that looks like cottage cheese, or a watery discharge.

2. Itching, burning, or irritation of the female private area, which is the tissue that surrounds the female organ.

3. Vaginal burning with intimacy or passing out of urine.

4. Pain or soreness in the female organ or the opening of the female organ.

5. Rashes around the female private area.

Sometimes a more complicated yeast infection may happen, with more chronic symptoms. Four or more infections may occur in a year.

There may be chronic redness, swelling, and itching, causing sores.

Medical conditions that can trigger complicated yeast infections include pregnancy, uncontrolled diabetes, and a weak immune system.
