The game started well today as both teams ended the first half in a stalemate. Netherland in the second half worked out their victory by scoring two deserved goals through Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen.

However, Mendy was responsible for the defeat because he miscalculated Frankie de Jong’s pass in the air which led to the first goal (a header) scored by Gakpo.

later in the stoppage time, Mendy failed to punch Memphis Depay’s shot in the right direction and instead punch it into the hands of Klaassen who scored from close range.

Nevertheless, this awful performance from Mendy will make Chelsea have a change of decision regarding his future as the blues are now planning to sign Jordan Pickford from Everton.
