Which businessmen and politicians own nightclubs?

Among them are former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi, city businessman Richard Ngatia and Peter Mbugua.

Quiver Lounge & Grill, situated along the busy Thika superhighway, is one of Nairobi’s most popular entertainment joints.

Quiver Lounge is frequented by men and women in equal measure, with revellers making merry.

Businessman Peter Mbugua owns the stylish, exquisite lounge and opened a new branch in Kenol, Murang’a county, which priests blessed.

“As you’ve already been told, the mall in which Quiver Lounge sits, was being dedicated to God as any business person would as he embarks on a new business challenge. While Quiver Lounge is a nightspot, it also enjoyed the blessings from the priests since it’s also part of the many businesses the Murang’a mall hosts,” Mbugua told Citizen Digital.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has invested in his home city of Eldoret through Club Timba XO.

The club, which was looted during the anti-government protests, is worth over KSh 250 million and was reopened on August 7.

During an appearance on the Obinna Show, Sudi opened up about the vandalism, revealing that he incurred losses amounting to KSh 25 million in alcohol inventory and over KSh 48 million in property damage.

The club’s interior exudes elegance. It features a large dance floor on the ground and first floors, a thoughtfully designed sitting area, and an upper terrace.

Sudi acquired the popular club along the Elodret-Nakuru highway and refurbished it to modern standards to provide stiff competition to other clubs in Eldoret, including Tamasha.

In May 2019, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko said he was worth more than the city’s annual budget, which was KSh 32 billion at the time.

The flamboyant politician revealed he acquired his wealth way before he was elected Makadara member of parliament in 2010.

The politician revealed he earns over KSh 4 million from his Mombasa club weekly, dubbed the VIP Volume Club.

Located in Shanzu, Mombasa, the state-of-the-art nightclub dubbed echoes nothing but money right from the parking lot. Its outlet boasts gold-coated lion statues that complement the gold-coated toilets. The dancing floor is made of bulletproof glass and lit in different colours, giving off a rare atmosphere.

The club also boasts stylish walls in Versace’s distinct style, with Versace branding appearing on all the walls. Kenyan billionaire Richard Ngatia is the former president of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI).

Ngatia is the brains behind the Galileo chain of hotels. The most famous one, Galileo Lounge, is located along Waiyaki Way, Westlands.

On its Instagram page, the lounge indicates it offers the ultimate night experience. In 2018 when CNN journalist Richard Quest toured Kenya, he visited the joint and took nyama choma, one of the country’s tastiest meals.

Trans Nzoia senator Allan Chesang is one of the richest senators in Kenya. Chesang has made significant investments in the nightclub industry. Who Owns Kenya reported that he is the proprietor of Club Blend, which has branches in Thika, Meru, and Nairobi.

He also owns The Garage Club, one of Thika’s premier nightclubs, and the Craft Lounge, which is located in the lush Westlands suburbs.
