It has also introduced a flat charge of 50 cents on the third reverse call.

The move is aimed at increasing revenue for the telecommunications company.

Safaricom will take home at least 1 million shillings a day going by 2 million customers who have been ‘joyriding’ on the free reverse calls.

The reverse call option was introduced to Kenyans 5 years ago.

It enables one to make a phone call for free by transferring the cost to the recipient (receiver).
