Gachagua has been under assault since fractures in the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) started to show in the recent past, particularly when he stood firm in defending what he claims to be Mount Kenya’s interest.

This statement comes amidst increasing tension within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as internal conflicts have begun to surface.

Gachagua has faced significant opposition from his party members, who have even called for his resignation. However, Chege firmly stands by him, citing his crucial role in representing Mount Kenya’s interests.

In recent times, Gachagua has been under scrutiny, particularly for his staunch defense of Mount Kenya’s interests. This has caused divisions within UDA, with some members pushing for his removal.

Despite these pressures, Sabina Chege has made it clear that she will not endorse any motion to impeach Gachagua. She emphasized that Gachagua holds the highest political rank in Mount Kenya and deserves support and respect.

Chege expressed her support for Gachagua by stating, “The Mount Kenya Kingpin is Rigathi Gachagua because he has the highest rank politically. I want to say that I would not sign the impeachment motion.” Her statement reflects her belief in Gachagua’s leadership and the importance of maintaining stability within the party.

Moreover, Chege raised concerns about the recent nominations of opposition leaders to the newly formed cabinet. She pointed out that President Ruto’s decision to include members of the opposition, particularly from Azimio’s Raila Odinga’s party, raises questions about his intentions. Chege questioned whether this move was aimed at uniting the country or weakening ODM’s influence entirely.

Chege lamented that while the president has shown support for opposition members by nominating them to the cabinet, it appears that only Gachagua is being targeted for removal. She highlighted the contributions of ODM members to the cabinet and suggested that the president’s actions could be seen as an effort to either bring the country together or completely diminish ODM’s presence.

“If the president could include opposition members in his cabinet, this move either means he wants to unite the country or to finish ODM completely,” Chege added. Her statement reflects her concern about the potential political strategy behind these nominations and their impact on the party dynamics.

Additionally, Chege drew parallels between Gachagua’s current situation and the political challenges that President Ruto faced under former President Uhuru Kenyatta. She emphasized that Ruto should not subject his deputy to similar circumstances, given the political turbulence he himself experienced. Chege’s comments highlight her desire for fair treatment and stability within the government.

In her critique, Chege underscored the importance of supporting leaders who defend regional interests. She argued that Gachagua’s commitment to Mount Kenya’s interests should not be a reason for his removal. Instead, she called for unity and collaboration within the party to address internal conflicts and ensure effective governance.

Chege’s remarks come at a time of growing political tension within UDA, as factions within the party clash over various issues. The call for Gachagua’s resignation has further deepened these divisions, with some members believing that his removal would benefit the party, while others, like Chege, see it as a detrimental move.

The inclusion of opposition members in the cabinet has also sparked debates about the president’s intentions. Some view it as a genuine effort to promote unity and inclusivity, while others, like Chege, are skeptical about its true purpose. The political landscape remains uncertain as these dynamics continue to unfold…CONTINUE READING>>
