Ruto noted that the project has a daily supply capacity of 1.2 million litres a day and will serve more than a 100,000 people in different regions.

The areas to be served include Chemuche, East Kabras, South Kabras, Shirugu Mugai, Butali Chegulo and Manda Shivaga.

The project is worth Sh2 billion.

“We will leave no one behind in our quest to provide sufficient and safe water for households,” the President said.

Ruto was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Water Eric Muuga and Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa.
