During a meeting at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in Lower Kabete on August 20, President Ruto urged the officers to prioritize education transition across all education levels from primary to secondary.

“By empowering you as pivotal agents of change in Kenya’s educational landscape, the government is committed to bridging educational gaps and ensuring equal opportunities for all children,” noted Ruto in a statement dated August 25.

Echoing Ruto’s sentiments, Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki lauded the officers for ensuring compliance with the government’s 100 per cent school transition policy throughout the year 2023.

Kindiki urged the officers to continue monitoring pupils and students who have completed their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya

Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) to ensure they progress to the next educational level.

According to the Ministry of Interior, NGAO facilitated the transition of about 1.2 million students to various Junior Secondary Schools (JSS).

“During the same period, 1.1 million students transitioned to Form One, while 15,874 others enrolled for vocational training,” read the statement in part.

NGAO officers alongside police officers, also offer support through coordination, logistics and provision of security during national exams.
