Governor Sakaja has responded to a public appeal by DP Rigathi Gachagua followingprotests by Wakulima market traderswho were opposing their planned relocation to Kangundo market.
Taking to his social media account, Gachagua reminded Sakaja of the promise given by the Kenya Kwanza team to uplift Kenyans’ lives.
“My younger brother Governor Johnson Sakaja, kindly, do consider having a sitting with the leadership of the market to agree on whatever changes your government desires without adversely affecting their livelihoods.”
Governor Sakaja, in a very short subsequent response, seemingly urged the Deputy President to phone him directly.
“My elder brother H.E Rigathi Gachagua, You have my number,” wrote the Nairobi County boss, also on social media.

Rigathi Rejected by Mount Kenya 48 Mt. Kenya MPs on Thursday denounced Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and threw their weight behind Interior CS Kithure Kindiki who has been tipped to become the region’s next kingpin.
The MPs, largely drawn from the ruling UDA party, met in Nyahururu and agreed to back the Interior CS, effectively pitting him against the country’s second in command. However, a majority of Members of Parliament allied to Rigathi Gachagua did not attend the meeting.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has warned social media users against making false and inciting statements about the Hillside Endarasha Academy tragedy.
Speaking on Thursday, Kindiki said he had seen some alarming statements on social insisting that the government has nothing to hide.
