During a meeting with the President of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Foundation, Martin Schulz, at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi, on Thursday, June 29, 2023, Gachagua revealed that he does not allow his driver to touch his prized vehicle.

The Deputy President explained that his decision stems from his deep admiration for German-made cars, particularly the Mercedes Benz.

According to Gachagua, the car’s efficiency and reliability give him complete confidence when behind the wheel.

“I am a fan of your car, Mercedes Benz. It is a car that I don’t allow my driver to drive, and I drive it myself because vehicles from Germany are tested, efficient, and last long,” he stated.

The Mercedes Benz is known for its high-end engineering and performance, with the latest models in Kenya ranging from Ksh10 million to Ksh30 million.

For Gachagua, it is not just about the luxury; he views the car as an embodiment of quality, durability, and comfort.

He believes the German automobile maker’s technology is proven and trusted by many Kenyans, who seek value for money in their purchases.

The Deputy President further noted that he feels a personal connection to his Mercedes, reinforcing why he is so possessive of it.
