The candidate and his party filed a lawsuit to enjoin the Labour Party and the People’s Democratic Party from continuing to announce and compile the poll’s results.

In the Federal High Court in Kano, “the lawsuit was marked FHC/KN/CS/43/2023.”

Kashim Shettima, the APC vice presidential candidate, “was added to the list of plaintiffs along with the Action Alliance and the Independent National Electoral Commission.”

“The plaintiffs requested the court to issue an injunction prohibiting the defendants from halting the compilation and release of the results,” according to Daily Trust, in a motion on notice submitted along with the original summons.

According to their argument, “damages will not fully compensate for the hurt that may be induced on the Plaintiffs if the Defendants cease the collation of the outcome.” They added.
