Despite their league victory, Manchester City remain hellbent on further strengthening their current squad and keeping some of their best players at the club by offering new contracts.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Manchester City football club are willing to offer experienced right-winger Riyad Mahrez a new long-term contract this summer.

The 31-year-old Algeria International, who signed up for Manchester City after departing Leicester City back in 2018 has been an important member of the first-team squad over the previous seasons.

The experienced right-winger was heavily involved for Manchester City during the just concluded 2021/2022 season where he scored 24 goals and created nine assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.

But then, Riyad Mahrez has just one year left on his current contract with Manchester City and it is believed that the reigning Premier League champions want to keep him at the club.

And according to reports from The Sun, Manchester City football club are really interested in keeping Riyad Mahrez at the club and have now offered him a new long-term contract.

The reports further claimed that Riyad Mahrez is also happy at Manchester City football club and he is ready to extend his contract by signing a new £160,000-a-week contract this summer.

That said, Riyad Mahrez is now expected to sign the new contract while also hoping to help his side challenge in their bid to win their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy next season.
