Despite their good run of form in the league, Barcelona football club have been knocked out of the UEFA Europa League and will aim towards improving their current squad in the summer.
That said, Barcelona are considering improvements in midfield and have been linked with a move for experienced Manchester City attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva.
The 28-year-old Portugal International, who signed up for Manchester City after departing AS Monaco back in 2017 has proven to be an important member of the first-team squad in recent seasons.
The experienced attacking midfielder has been hugely influential for Manchester City so far this 2022/2023 football season, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
His excellent performances in midfield is believed to have caught the attention of Barcelona and according to reports from The Sun, the LaLiga giants are keen on signing him.
The reports further claimed that Manchester City are very much aware of Barcelona’s interest in Bernardo Silva and have now told the Spanish side to pay £53.5million transfer fee.
It is believed that Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez wants to add more creativity to his midfield options and has identified Bernardo Silva as a needed addition to his squad.
But then, it remains to be seen if Barcelona football club will be capable of paying the demanded £53.5million transfer fee in order lure Bernardo Silva away from Manchester City in the summer.
