Spanish La Liga Santander Champion, Real Madrid defender and former Bayern Munich star David Alaba was incredible yesterday for Austrian senior national team in an international friendly at home against Roberto Mancini led Italy team at the Ernst Happel Stadion.
The 30 year old football maestro and prolific defender retained his spot in his team’s starting XI line-up as the team’s captain having been a key figure in the squad and he was able to deliver at the optimal level in the whole 90 minutes duration.
David Alaba in the game was instrumental both at the heart of the defence line as well as at the attacking line where he played the two roles excellently by making some decisive and dangerous clearances to deny the visitor some clear cut chances that could have been converted into goals, and also played pivotal role in getting the ball advanced upfront thereby scored a brilliant goal in the two nil victory.
The host in the 6th minute opened the scoring sheet with a goal from Xaver Schlager to make it one nil before David Alaba got the lead doubled in the 35th minute to make it two goals to nil going into the half time break.
The tempo of the game in the second half got more heated up in the second half as they both put up some more dazzling displays but none was able to found the back of the net with all attempts to add more to the tally of the night proving abortive as it ended two goals to nil at full time.
David Alaba with his mind-blowing performance in the game for his team will be hoping to keep the momentum going in their next game so as to extend their winning streaks further.
