Apart from his rich educational background, Raila will also be banking on his experience at the AU to propel him to clinch the seat.
He has previously served as a High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa (2018-2023).
During his stint at the body, he strengthened the efforts of the Commission in the implementation of the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA).
A look into his curriculum vitae, part of the documents he has submitted, shows that the ODM leader holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology.
He acquired it from Magdeburg Technical School & Otto-Von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany.
He also possesses a Certificate in Senior Management from Kenya Institute of Management.
Raila also holds a Kenya Certificate in Standardization and Quality Controlfrom the University of Denver, in Colorado, USA.
Other certificates he has listed in his resume are in Establishment of Natural Physical Standards, National Bureau of Standards & Technology from Gaithersburg, MD, USA and another one in Standards Specification writing, British Standards Institution (BSI Group).
Raila has several honors which include the Greater Good Award from Mizani Africa, Doctor of Sciences (Honoris Causa) from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science & Technology and BEFFTA Award for Global Leadership (The Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) from London, UK.
Others are Embrace Women, Building Bridges in Kenya, The Golden Jubilee Award, the Doctorate of Leadership in Social Development (Honoris Causa) from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Kuala Lumpur and Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) from Maseno University.
In 2009, Florida Agricultural Mechanical University, USA awarded him an Honorary Doctorate, while in 2008 has got a Doctor of Laws, (LLD) (Honoris Causa) from the University of Nairobi.
In 2008, he was also awarded the Elder of the Golden Heart (EGH) banking on his experience at the AU to propel him to clinch the seat.
