Odinga affirmed that his position has never changed and that he has always advocated for a national convention to help remove or rather save Kenya from the crisis it has found itself in the last months.

“I have seen newspapers publishing very wrong information that I am double speaking. I have never changed my position. What I’m saying and I will keep on repeating is that we must a conversation as Kenyans.” He said

Odinga said that he called for a National convention where Kenyans will discuss their issues because if the Gen Z protests could have been allowed to continue, President William Ruto could have been overwhelmed and as a result, he could have handed over the power to millitary and that is how the country could have been thrown to dogs.

“My fear is that if we could have left things to go the way they were going then maybe we could have lost the country. Ruto could have been overpowered and the only option that he has was to give the power to the army and things would not have been same again.” He said
