Initially, the former prime minister claimed the president never consulted with him when nominating five ODM officials to the Cabinet.

However, speaking in Nairobi on Monday, August 5, Raila admitted knowing about his allies’ appointments to the Cabinet.

The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party leader claimed the president went to him seeking help dealing with issues raised by Gen Zs.

Raila said Ruto sought help after his Cabinet failed to deliver on its mandate to Kenyans

According to Raila, the experts recruited by Ruto from the ODM ranks are a much-needed boost to Ruto’s troubled ship and will assist the administration in turning things around.

“Now you see, the guys were struggling with the work; he disbanded the Cabinet and came to us asking to give them people. They came and knelt down, saying we should give them people.

“We have given him experts, you will now see things changing,” Raila told his supporters at Toi Market in Nairobi.

Meanwhile, the president responded to allegations of forming a coalition government with Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement.

During a town hall engagement with Mombasa residents, Ruto explained that he dismissed almost his entire Cabinet to give the country a fresh start.
