There had been widespread rumors that his administration had formed a coalition with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in response to the chaos, including demonstrations led by Gen Z advocating for economic reforms and demanding Ruto’s resignation.

Speaking today, President Ruto dismissed these rumors, clarifying that no agreement has been reached to form a coalition government with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

He explained that while leaders allied with Raila Odinga have been nominated for positions in the broad-based government, including the potential appointment of 20 Principal Secretaries, the purpose is to foster national unity, not to form a coalition.
