Adebayo Shittu, the director general of the Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Government, offered the counsel on Wednesday during a news conference in Ibadan.

As one of the most important Yoruba states, Oyo State had always been ruled by progressive parties, albeit under various names and flags, he noted.

“Unfortunately, the state suffered during the final term of the late Ishaq Ajimobi. Sadly, he was unable to oversee the APC primaries for local governments, state assemblies, governorships, and the national assembly.

“As a result, everyone in the party who had ambitions for one post or another and had been unfairly denied those opportunities opted to leave the party.

The majority of them joined Seyi Makinde and the opposition PDP in addition to leaving the APC in order to defeat it in the general election of 2019

Makinde, he claimed, became the state governor as a result of development without having had the necessary psychological training or political experience.

“The results of last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections have revealed clearly that our patriotic residents of Oyo State have unanimously resolved to fully submit and support our great party, the APC, with almost half a million votes for our presidential candidate,” he said.
