The State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams stated this in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Adéwálé Osifeso.

The statement explains that the passengers of the blue iveco truck with registration number driven by one Abdulahi Aliu, age 30 are from Namuda, Zamfara State to continue their businesses in Ogere, Ogun state.

It says further that the truck was thoroughly searched by combined team of police,DSS and Amotekun to eliminate possibilities of ferrying escapees from any recorded jailbreaks in the country but nothing incriminating was found.

The search revealed that 8 motorcycles, bags of beans and onions that were to be dropped off with their owners at Bodija market were found in the vehicle.

The statement adds that the truck and its passengers were later escorted out of the state and handed over to security operatives in Ogun State.
