Peseiro will lead the Super Eagles in an international friendly with the Desert Foxes of Algeria on Tuesday in Oran.

Prior to Tuesday’s game, the Super Eagles will face the Algerian B team in a test game in Constantine on Friday, 23 September.

And speaking on NFF TV, Peseiro expressed delight about the friendly with Algeria, stating why it is important to his plans of emerging African champions when the next AFCON hold in 2024.

“It feels good and I’m happy for the opportunity to play against Algeria because we need to improve our national team,” Peseiro said.

“I repeat I want to win the next AFCON and for that we need to improve our national team, we need to improve our dynamics, we need to improve our organization in and outside the field.

“You need to create connection with the players, create a relationship inside and outside the field for the players to build a great national team so that’s our goal.“

The former Real Madrid assistant coach spoke about what he and his coaching crew have been doing concerning monitoring the performance of Nigerian players.

He said:”We have many good players so I believe we can achieve success with our national which made me say I want to win the AFCON because I know the players.

“Me and my staff we keep watching many matches around the world concerning the performance of the players and like I said the national team is open for everybody.“

The Super Eagles are top of Group A in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers after winning their opening two games.

Th year pipped Sierra Leone 2-1 in their group opener before hammering São Tomé and Principe 10-0 on match day two in Morocco.
