In the video, Mr. Folarin is depicted blaming Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-elect, for his party’s poor performance in the election.

However, in a personally signed statement, Folarin has distanced himself from the video and explicitly stated that he does not hold Tinubu responsible for his defeat.

He noted that the video was produced by his “sworn enemies” with the intention of creating a rift between him and the party’s leadership.

Instead, Folarin reiterated that he believes that it is only God who grants and takes away power. He did not delve into any specific reasons for his defeat, nor did he place blame on anyone else.

It is important to note that Folarin’s statement comes in the wake of a contentious and closely-watched election in Oyo state. The election saw the incumbent governor, Seyi Makinde, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secure a resounding victory over Folarin and the APC.

The results of the election have sparked much debate and discussion in the political sphere, with some analysts attributing the APC’s loss to a lack of cohesion within the party and an inability to present a united front. Others have cited voter apathy, particularly among APC supporters, as a factor that contributed to the party’s defeat.

Regardless of the reasons behind the APC’s loss, Folarin’s statement serves as a reminder that politics can be a contentious and divisive field. Even within the same party, there may be competing factions and interests that can lead to infighting and discord.

At the same time, Folarin’s decision to absolve Tinubu of any responsibility for his defeat highlights the importance of maintaining relationships within the party, even in the face of disappointment or defeat.

Political parties often rely on a network of alliances and alliances to achieve their goals, and preserving those relationships can be crucial for future success.
