Pressure continued to mount on the besieged acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli yesterday with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Narc Kenya’s Martha Karua calling for his dismissal for being unfit to hold public office.....CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

It was also a day that the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) said it had commenced investigations in relation to the withdrawal of Justice Mugambi’s security detail.

This was after the Judges Welfare Association filed a petition with IPOA over Masengeli’s conduct.

“In view of the foregoing, IPOA, on its own motion, has instituted investigations into the alleged withdrawal,” said IPOA chief executive Elema Halake in a statement last evening.

The judges’ welfare also filed a separate complaint with IPOA against a police inspector, only identified as Riri, attached to the Judiciary Police Unit and stationed at the Supreme Court, for allegedly directing Justice Lawrance Mugambi’s official driver and bodyguard to surrender their firearms and report back to GSU headquarters.

The association’s President Justice Patrick Otino are also demanding a public apology from Masengeli.

Kalonzo particularly raised issue with the acting IG’s high headedness, for not obeying court summons and going ahead to withdraw Justice Lawrence Mugambi’s security detail.

“It’s a direct attack, and actually a primitive one if I may call it so. It’s unexplainable, and that man should not qualify to hold any office,” Kalonzo said, terming Masengeli’s actions as being in contradiction to the law.

Kalonzo even suggested that Masengeli should not only go home but be held responsible for trying to drive the country backwards, and in a primitive way.

On her part, Karua urged the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) to take disciplinary action against Masengeli for disobeying court orders and questioned why the commission has maintained a deafening silence.

“We are asking NPSC to wake up from their slumberland, and if they are afraid of the President Ruto regime, they should pack and go home instead of receiving money for work they are not doing,” Karua said…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
