This decision follows a meeting with Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia on August 16.

CETAG National President Prince Obeng-Himah announced that the council members will vote on two motions discussed during the meeting with the Vice President.

“We will meet again on Monday to vote on the motions presented in conjunction with our discussions with the Vice President,” Obeng-Himah told 3news.com.

He explained that no consensus was reached at the recent meeting to suspend the strike, and council members will need to consult with their constituents over the weekend before casting their votes.

“Each council member will vote to decide whether or not to suspend the strike, based on the assurances provided by the Vice President’s Office at the Jubilee House,” Obeng-Himah said.

The outcome of the vote is expected to be communicated by the end of Monday. CETAG members have been on strike since June 14, which has led the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) to call for the closure of schools due to inactivity. However, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission has opposed such measures.
