There are some people who believe that the detribalised, loyal, and healthy status of Osinbajo is a great tool and makes him qualified enough to become the next president of Nigeria.
While some are making it known that, with the high political experience of Tinubu and his abundant contribution to how President Muhammadu Buhari became president, he is also worthy of ruling Nigeria in 2023.
However, in this article, I am discussing the reason why Afenifere and Ohanaeze may abundantly support Tinubu over Osinbajo for the Presidency if they run as it is rumoured.
The Issue of Restructuring.
Both the Afrnifere and Ohanaeze groups see restructuring as a powerful tool that is needed to build Nigeria’s security and economy, which is why they continue to demand it.
In this context, only Tinubu sees the restructuring of Nigeria from their angle and has vowed in many of his speeches to support their demand, making it known that restructuring is needed in order to save Nigeria from being a failed state.
While Nigeria’s vice president, Osinbajo, kicks against restructuring in many of his speeches with the claim that the unitary system of government that we are practicing is not the problem of Nigeria in solidary with President Muhammadu Buhari, who also kicks against restructuring.
Apart from this, Osinbajo has said a lot of things considered restructuring, which shows he is not a fan of it as he challenged the restructuring advocators to go to court.
In this context, there is a high chance that both Afenifere and Ohanaeze may end up supporting Bola Tinubu, who is a fan of restructuring, and also see things in their angle over Yemi Osinbajo that kick against restructuring wholeheartedly if they run for the presidency, as being rumoured.
