Chelsea has confirmed the signing of Eddie Beach from Premier League rivals Southampton for an undisclosed fee. The Blues are already building for the future as they signed the 18-year-old Wales goalkeeper.
The young goalkeeper will play mostly for the youth side next season and can also be called upon to train with the first team or join the matchday squad if need be.
Chelsea released an official statement on their website to confirm the signing of Eddie Beach from Southampton.
“Eddie Beach, an 18-year-old goalkeeper, is joining the Chelsea. Beach, who was previously at Southampton, is a Wales Under-19 international,” the club confirmed.
“Last season he was part of the Southampton side which made it all the way to the Under-18s Premier League national final, where they were defeated by Manchester City in front of a big crowd at St Mary’s. He also appeared in a PL2 game.
