According to sources, the suspect approached the victims, claiming to be organising a photography project in Tanzania with a group of tourists.
However, after a month, neither the suspect nor the promised project have materialised, leaving the victims unable to trace him through tracking efforts.
The dispute with the suspect escalated the situation, leading to the detention of two people, reportedly friends of the victims, at Mtwapa Police Station.
The complainant is demanding compensation amounting to Ksh 750,000 for allegedly stolen gadgets related to the supposed project.
Efforts by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at Nyali to track down the suspect have so far proved unsuccessful as he remains elusive and out of radar detection.
