Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini is enduring a chaotic start to the new season with two key players, Ademola Lookman and Teun Koopmeiners, pushing to leave the club.

Lookman reportedly asked to be left out of the squad for the opening Serie A match against Leece after Paris Saint-Germain’s approach, while Koopmeiners tried to force a transfer to Juventus.

Gasperini candidly shared his thoughts after Atalanta’s 4-0 win over Leece:

“In all honesty, nobody expected to find ourselves in this situation. At this moment, I am having to take it one day at a time.”

The manager is dealing with not only the uncertainty surrounding Lookman and Koopmeiners but also Scamacca’s injury. Gasperini expressed his focus on assembling the best squad possible, saying, “My job is to see with the club what could be useful to add. Clearly, we’ll not have a defined squad until August 31.”

PSG have backed away from Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and now view Ademola Lookman as the ideal replacement for the former star forward Kylian Mbappe.

Atalanta are reportedly seeking 45-50 million euros for the 26-year-old, and although there’s no official bid yet, transfer experts believe an agreement will be reached before the transfer window closes…CONTINUE READING>>
