While King Charles III ascends the throne as the new King, he gave notice to 100 of his workers at the royal residence in the City of Westminster, London.
According to UK Guardian, King Charles III made the statement during a ceremony in honor of the queen saying that 100 employees at the king’s former official residence including those that have worked for decades have been notified that they will lose their jobs as he ascends to the throne.
The general secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union, Mark Serwotka, said that the union is to make the staff have full job security. Adding that the future of some of the palace workers has been thrown into turmoil following the announcement.
