Amaechi emphasised that he had “simply apologised to the Igbos on behalf of the state on abandoned properties from the Nigerian civil war” in a statement released through his media staff.

Yet the former transportation minister claimed that if he had been in charge at the time, he would never have permitted such a thing to happen.

Amaechi claimed that Governor Nyesom Wike spread the information regarding the compensation with the objective of confusing the state.

The former governor claimed that Wike and his goons now traffic in divisive false information to defame him.

He urged the people of Rivers to disregard Wike’s false information.
