In a live video released on Instagram by Joshua’s’ friend, Ayo-the-creator, the NDLEA officials were seen in a heated argument with Joshua, who claimed that he had the right to enquire why the officials were in his house at that time of the night.
At some point during the argument, the officials were seen ordering the person behind the camera to stop the recording, to which Joshua reiterated that it is part of his fundamental human rights. The reiteration angered the officials, who proceeded to snatch the phone inorder to stop being recorded.
In accordance with common sense, the Officials had presumed that the midnight hours will be the best time to catch anybody unawares.
In addition, the raid was termed a drug search, which means that they presumed that the best time to search a suspect’s home for drugs is when the suspect expects no visitors, because he/she will be less tactical about where to hide the drugs.
Few hours after the live video that was seen on Instagram, Joshua was seen in a mugshot taken by the NDLEA Lagos state command. He is presently being reprimanded in the branch in FESTAC, Lagos state.
In an outcry on Instagram Joshua’s friend, Ayo-the-creator wrote to the NDLEA, pleading Joshua’s innocence and beckoning on noble citizens to help get freedom for Joshua. He pleaded that Joshua is only a skit maker who doesn’t promote drug abuse in his skits. He added that Joshua does not take drugs as drugs are unlawful.
According to Ayo, the NDLEA is yet to tender an official response to Joshua’s friend and have denied access to the station where Joshua is currently reprimanded.
