In a post on X, the politician reminded the top cop that the 2010 Constitution guarantees the freedoms of Kenyans and all persons entrusted with authority are expected to follow it to the letter.

“Reminding IG NPS that the constitution of Kenya 2010 is a living document that must be adhered to by ALL persons ,respect for human life and dignity is not an option , your continued violations will be accounted for individually,” Karua said in a post.

Karua’s post came one day after she was depicted camping at businessman Jimi Wanjigi’s Muthaiga home after police raided the residence.

The former Gichugu MP was later captured confronting police officers for breaking into the home in an attempt to flush out the businessman.

“This is not a police camp, this is somebody’s home and the family would want to live in peace without disturbance. You have done whatever you have done and we ask you to leave without fail,” she stated.

“Let them consult among themselves but we expect them to withdraw immediately or come with a court order,”

The former Justice Minister further threatened a lawsuit against the National Police Service (NPS) for failing to withdraw from the premises.

Karua had trooped to the home accompanied by Azimio Principal Eugene Wamalwa to stand in solidarity with the businessman who has been in the crosshairs of the Kenya Kwanza administration for constantly exposing its failure to account for public funds and loans.

On Thursday, during theNane Nanedemonstrations, Karua also stood with the Kenyan youthful population and showed up to the streets to protest.

The police had broken into Wanjigi’s residence after Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli accused Wanjigi of financing Thursday’s anti-govt protests.
