In an interview with Inooro TV, Kiunjuri addressed claims regarding the recently held Nyahururu Declaration, affirming that the focus was on regional development. Kiunjuri expressed frustration over the focus on Kindiki, which he said had overshadowed the declaration’s broader goals.

He stated that the gathering was not a challenge to Gachagua’s position but rather a strategy for promoting development across the populous region.

“The Nyahururu Declaration was not about any individual and it was not funded by anyone as its being speculated, we paid for our bills ,we had met in Machakos ,Kiambu few months ago, so Nyahururu meeting wasn’t first sitting, the meeting was issue-based, aimed at uniting regional leadership for development,” Kiunjuri clarified.

Kiunjuri stated that while Gachagua’s political influence is widely acknowledged, the regional caucus was strictly focused on development.

He explained that Kindiki was selected to facilitate development discussions and to act as a link between the people of Mt Kenya and President William Ruto.

“Kindiki’s role is not that of a kingpin but a link. The caucus aims to ensure that all elected leaders have an equal opportunity to lobby for their areas, avoiding the perception of favoritism,” he said.

The MP expressed concerns over the lack of effective communication from Gachagua regarding Mt Kenya’s regional issues. Earlier, Kiunjuri accused the second in command of trying to isolate the Mt Kenya region for personal political gain.

Kiunjuri claimed Gachagua’s efforts to consolidate support in Mt Kenya are part of a broader scheme to weaken President William Ruto’s influence.

The Service Party leader urged Mt Kenya leaders to remain united with the central administration despite Gachagua’s actions.

Kiunjuri criticised Gachagua for focusing on regional politics instead of supporting the implementation of the Kenya Kwanza coalition’s campaign promises…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
