The Money Fest driver has come out to defend George Ruto, saying the souped-up vehicle was financed with a loan.

In a video widely shared on X, the driver explained that George took out a loan at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) to fabricate the vehicle.

The driver accused critics of spreading propaganda against its acquisition and registration, saying the owner has a right to engage in matatu business.

He disclosed that Money Fest benefits at least 100 people, and George cannot be admonished for investing in an industry that employs the youth.

“No police officer is despised over this vehicle. It is all propaganda. My investor is a businessperson like any other Kenyan and is free to engage in legal or economic activity like all other nationals.

This vehicle is servicing a loan at KCB. He has to pay. He is our brother who is trying to uplift us as youth. He has purchased this vehicle and is soon acquiring another one.

In a day, this vehicle feeds at least 100 people. There are the touts, Sacco, and the passengers. You can’t just hate on this bus because the president’s son bought it,” said the driver.

However, the diver’s sentiments were dismissed by a section of netizens who accused the owner of non-compliance with PSV rules and operating without a Sacco.

Aside from the controversy over its NTSA documentation, Money Fest is turning heads over its design and interior decor.

Since its recent unveiling, customers who ply its Ngong route have praised it for its souped-up, distinctive canary-yellow look.
