At 10:30 p.m. on Monday, President Biden gave a speech during the first day of the DNC at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, and was met with an extended standing ovation.

After he gave his speech, Kamala Harris went to congratulate him on stage, placing her hands on each of the president’s shoulders, and appeared to say, “I love you.”

In the background, Doug Emhoff, Harris’ husband, can be seen hugging Jill Biden, the First Lady.

Harris and Biden then embraced before Emhoff walked over to Biden to also seemingly share his congratulations.

The clip has been widely circulated across social media.

Independent journalist Aaron Rupar posted the footage in real time, where it has received almost 200,000 views. Biden’s wife Jill also took to the stage during the DNC’s opening night, and recalled how her late son Beau, who died in 2015 from brain cancer, had worked with Harris while he was attorney general of Delaware, and she held the same role in California.

In a public endorsement of Harris, she said, “He told me at the dinner table one night, ‘Mom, she’s special someone to keep your eye on.’ And he was right. Joe and I know Kamala. We have seen her courage, her determination and her leadership up close.”
