While many people go to Saudi Arabia primarily for greener pastures, a woman has shared an interesting reason for her departure.

Linah Mwaluma, who said she could account for how she used her KSh 500,000 Saudi money, said she went to the Gulf because of her husband.

The mother of three said she was already in a relationship when she went abroad but was not happy.

“I was going to Saudi Arabia because I wanted to leave him. He was a drunkard. He wouldn’t settle down whenever he got his payslip. He couldn’t stay at home. Whenever he got money, he always left,” she said.

It was not long before Mwaluma received an update about her husband after she went abroad.

The Mombasa woman, who had menial jobs before going to Saudi Arabia, said she had heard that her husband had been saved and had become a Christian.

“After he was saved and I returned, he told me I wouldn’t return to Saudi. I wasn’t getting what I was getting before. So he’d go to work and give all the money he got to me. I was the planner of the house,” she proudly said.

Despite having a good relationship with her husband, Mwaluma said a time came when she parted ways with her husband.

It hurt her because the kids were being raised by their father, and she barely had time to be with them.

She noted the importance of raising kids by both parents, as it is more beneficial when both parents are involved.
